Day 20 - VR troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I am glad to report that I finally got my VR headset from the university today.

Problem is it did not work, I worked on it for a few hours individually the headset works and my computer is able to detect but I am not able to run anything on it through my laptop.

I am chalking it up to two things:

1. Not being able to create an account on my phone app, since there is already a university login on the headset.

2. The box I got was missing the oculus link cable and I have been using a standard USB-C cable.

I followed multiple videos but each video was doing something I was not able to do.

Basically what was happening was that my laptop was just charging the headset rather than working with it. I tried connecting it through wifi but that is not possible since I do not have access to an ethernet cable in my room.

Also just to let you all know the reason why I chose the oculus headset is because the packages on unity are easily downloadable and it does not require a lot of effort + this is what the university had.

Oculus quest are also cheaper than the competition like Vive.

I have emailed Professor Nick for an extra cable, if he does not respond by tomorrow I will check the replay lab, if not there then amazon it is.

As for tomorrow I will start work on my task system. I do not know how long it will take to develop but a quick search gave me a lot of results so hopefully I have a few options to pick from.
