So over the weekend I tried implementing chat for my game but was not able to as some things were not clear to me and also I could not find a walkthrough that would be closely related to my project.

First today I had my doubts cleared with Dr Diefenbach. I had a meeting with him where I asked him for the task system for the therapist do I need a separate scene or can I just have the VR and chat together.

Secondly I also asked if I can have two players and yes I can as photon allows you to do it.

Later he referred me to someone who has a lot of experience with Photon who might be able to help me and sent a few videos for me to watch.

This video describes how to Instantiate player avatars in Unity using Photon

This video describes how to make a character selection in Unity using photon

So, the for the weekend I followed these two videos

This video was good but it didn't help me much as it was from the perspective of a 2D game

This video series initially was good but later on stopped showing code and did not mention how to write it. Just explain the concept of chatting.

In the end I deleted everything I had done regarding networking choosing to get a fresh start and used this video for the basic networking/photon setup.

I used this video because the person is to the point and explains well what each function does and in my opinion is very beginner friendly.

So for now I am back to square one. My app can make a room and have others join in but nothing else. I will be watching the videos Dr Diefenbach shared with me and updating how it all comes together.
